My Favourite 9

2017 has been a really good year for me. Getting to study art and illustration full time at Melbourne Polytechnic this year has been wonderful! I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with different styles, different mediums, and trying to figure out what suits me best.

These are my favourite 9 images from the year. Some were from assignments, some were just for fun, but I learnt from all of them. I learnt different techniques, and what some of my strengths and weaknesses are. I also learnt that you really shouldn’t leave your cup of tea next to your painting water.

Going into a freelance creative career is one of the scariest things I’ve ever done, and I still feel quite unprepared. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a really long time, and now that it’s happening it still feels like a dream. Other days it feels like one of those nightmares where you’re naked in front of the whole class. Regardless, I’m really glad that I’m following through and trying it.

I don’t know what 2018 will look like yet. But I know I have lots of ideas, and lots of love and support around me. That makes me feel strong enough to take it on.

See you in the new year!
